PTA Background:
PTA Meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of the month at 8:15 in the McGaugh auditorium. All are welcome!
The purpose of the McGaugh PTA is to promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and community; to raise the standards of home life; to secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth; to bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth; to develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental,and social education.
When you join McGaugh PTA, you also become a member of the District (Orange County), State, and National PTAs. Through our unified voices and the power of our membership numbers, PTA organizations at all levels can more effectively advocate for and seek legislation to the benefit of our children and all the others outside of McGaugh.
Membership has its benefits, as the saying goes. PTA Members will receive coupons to Lego Land theme park, and can get discounts at businesses like Enterprise Car Rental, HP,and T-Mobile. That is in addition to the important local benefits of voting rights at our monthly meetings and access to a network of people with the similar goal of improving the educational environment of our students.
Everyone is welcome to have a voice at McGaugh PTA. Although we are a “Parent-Teacher Association”, anyone with an interest can join. Aunts and uncles, grandparents, guardians, even neighbors and local businesses can be a part of our PTA. The only requirement is a desire to see the PTA meet its goal of improving the lives of our children.
